I wouldn’t be who I am today without Pearl Shaw
I trained at Pearl Shaw from age three to sixteen, before leaving with a full scholarship to Laine Theatre Arts in London. After this, I went on to perform in West End shows such as Mamma Mia and Hairspray.
Caroline was so much more than a teacher, she was like a second mum!
My time at Pearl Shaw gave me invaluable opportunities and allowed me to share my love of performance by helping younger students too. I think it was there I got my bug for teaching! I’m now instructing on a BA course at Performance Preparation Academy in London.
Prepared me for my Performing Arts career
Pearl Shaw School of Performing Arts has grown since I was a pupil - and even then there was a good 200 of us! I started at the the age of 3 (1993).
I currently work on a Japanese cruise ship for CBG. It's safe to say the school got me to where I am today, and it's so good to see so many pupils stepping in the same direction and entering into a career in Performing Arts.
A significant milestone in my journey to my current profession
I trained at Pearl Shaw from 1976 to 1991 and was privileged to be taught by both Pearl and Caroline. Caroline has continued to be a lifelong friend and I cannot praise her and the teachers highly enough.
Pearl Shaw is a family, and there is no place like it for high-quality teaching and a nurturing and supportive environment.
Helped me to become who I am today
Caroline and the team have taken me from a 3-year-old ballet dancer to a passionate 18-year-old who is now thriving in the next steps of life.
Pearl Shaw not only teaches you to perform, but it gives you a sense of being part of an extended family.
I now teach musical theatre plus choreograph and direct shows in North London.
